Turkey – Patrick Mahomes
There’s no Thanksgiving without the star of the show – the turkey. It’s safe to say Mahomes is the star of the NFL, he makes all of his side dishes, I mean teammates, better.
Gravy – Tyreek Hill
You can’t have turkey without gravy, right? Right? Man, I guess gravy can stand alone by itself.
Stuffing – Micah Parsons
You always need stuffing on the plate to fill up on Turkey Day. Much of what you feel in your post-meal food coma is that stuffing bringing you down, much like Micah Parsons brings down QBs.
Cranberry Sauce – Kirk Cousins
You like that?! Turns out, not a lot of people do! Cranberry sauce is an incredibly polarizing side, much like Kirk Cousins is a polarizing QB. Is he good? Does cranberry sauce taste good in primetime? These are the questions we need answers to!
Mashed Potatoes – Trent Williams
Sometimes, we take mashed potatoes for granted. They’re consistent. Always there for us, quietly adding enormous value to the plate, just plain doing their job. Much like Trent Williams anchoring the offensive line, mashed potatoes anchor the plate.
Sweet Potato Casserole – Joe Burrow
So cool and sweet, just like Joe Sheisty, sweet potato casserole is a staple. It may not be the star of your plate, but it’s good for a solid performance and always has a breakout season in its back pocket.
Pumpkin Pie – Derrick Henry
Hear me out here. Pumpkin pie doesn’t necessarily scream “25 carries per game for 160 yards”, but it’s the end of every meal. When you’re worn out from a long day of eating, you turn to pumpkin pie to get you across the finish line. When you’ve had a long, grueling game, and you need yards to chew the clock and get the W, you hand the ball to Derrick Henry. See how I tied that together? Brilliant.
